Our Family

My name is Gary.  I am the one that decided that it might be fun to convert a bus and post all about it on a web site.

Here I am sitting in our 1967 Aristocrat trailer.  We don't have the trailer anymore, but lead to the idea to convert a bus. I'm not happy unless I am working on some kind of project.  Working on the bus keeps me busy and out of trouble for the most part...

This is my beautiful wife Becky.  She has been there working right along side of me the whole time.  She not only tolerates all of my crazy plans, she encourages me to go through with them.

Becky is the budget master and my reality check whenever I start to get frustrated.  I couldn't do any of this without her support.

Erika loves the outdoors and visiting new places.  She is very excited about the bus and can't wait until she has a room.  She wants to help decorate and wants to make sure that she has at least one secret hiding place somewhere on the bus.

One of Erika's favorite things about the bus is the fact that there are windows all around.  She took this sunset picture from the back window of the bus on the night after we bought the bus and drove it home.

Erika recently told me that she loved hanging from the luggage racks and expects me to put in some "monkey bars" to replace the missing racks...

"I love the bus", says Erika.

Emily is the clown of the family as you can plainly see...  She likes it that the wheel wells in the bus are there so she can slide down the sides on to the floor.  I'm going to have to find a replacement for that activity once the building process begins...  Is it legal to have a slide from the roof? <grin>

Emily loves to help work on the bus and actually ends up doing quite a bit of work for us.  One of her favorite jobs is to sweep up all of the piles of sawdust and screws.  She manages to get about as dirty as me in the process too...

We live in beautiful Eugene Oregon.  We've been here since 1995 and like the area very much.  It will be nice to be able to take the whole family away from the cold and rain during the winter time once the bus is finished.
