Today I patched the floor of the bus where the worst of
the problem was. It turns out that the rest of the flooring in the
back is in good shape and just looks bad. |
 |
After we had the bad parts of the floor cut out we decided
to do some major cleaning. After about 30 minutes trying to clean
with the vacuum and damp rags, I hauled in the hose and started hosing
everything off. I figure that if anything electrical gets wet it
will dry out over the next week or so. All of the electricity is
disconnected and I avoided the driver's area, so hopefully all will be
good when I re-connect in a few days. |
 |
While I was washing everything down, Becky was hauling
tools and stuff out of the way. When she got the bus empty, she
came back and helped me to sweep the muddy water out of the corners
where the water pooled up.
We set up the box fan and within about 1/2 hour, the floor looked
like it was drying nicely. |
 |
We hauled all of the tools back in. I couldn't help
but dust everything off as it came back in... Now that the bus was
clean, I didn't want the grime to make it back inside.
The biggest difference besides the clean look of the floor and walls
is the fact that the "funky old bus" smell seems to have left
too.
It's a big turning point. The bus is torn down to the sub floor
and clean, so now I can get to constructing... We're taking the
weekend off to celebrate and relax a little. The bus will wait for
us until Monday rolls around again. |
