At this point, we now have a pretty good idea of what the sub floor
looks like. There are a few places here and there that will need
to be replaced for sure. Judging from the amount of black dust we
have found under the platforms, I think it's going to be necessary to
remove the sub-floor. If for no other reason, to get all of the
black dust out of the vents and provide better access to the underside
of the bus.
I'm not quite sure what the next step should be. We pulled down
several sections of the ceiling. There was insulation and the
ceiling material (some kind of Formica with foil backing) is in great
shape, so I am reluctant to rebuild it if it isn't absolutely necessary. |
