We got a lot of things done today that have been hanging over my head
to some degree. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed and a bit down
lately. We're all still a bit under the weather from the cold we
all got and it has finally taken it's toll on me at least...
 |
We stopped off at the home improvement store for a sheet of foil
backed insulation. On the way home the front edge got some
lift and we ended up with a very nice "L" shaped piece
when we got to the bus.
I thought it was pretty funny, so I just had to take a
picture and post it here...
Usually we get more that 1 piece at a time or load a piece of
plywood on top, but I thought that if we took it slow it would
be fine. Oh well, no harm done.

Becky helped me clean off the rubber for the "D"
windows and we glued them back in place with some glue I got
from the auto glass shop...
I got tired of waiting for them to come out to the bus to
work on the windows with me. When I went down to their
store a couple of weeks ago they said that they were going to
come out to the bus to take a look at all of the windows and
give me an estimate to fix all of the larger windows and help me
re-install the "D" windows.
I find that a lot of the time people do not follow through,
so I picked up some window sealant while I was there. I'm
glad I did. I didn't do a pretty job, but they definitely
will not leak and nobody will notice my sloppy work since it
will be hidden behind the walls.

The back window of the bus got a layer of insulating foam to
help keep the back room warmer. It's been a pain in the
neck to try to get that back room comfortable since the
temperatures dropped.

You can't really tell, but we also added a layer of plastic
sheeting to the windows to seal out the air leaks.
It made a huge difference. Now the majority of the cold
can be felt coming from the metal compartment that houses the
air conditioning condenser. We plan to deal with that in
the near future too...

I finished up some wiring next to the refrigerator. We
wanted to get 12V, cable and a phone line installed before
insulating and sheeting the wall.

We are planning to stay home for Thanksgiving. There's a lot of
cooking and relaxing that needs to be done. |
