Follow Our Progress

November 13th 2003

I glued all of the supply lines that we had put together yesterday.  It took about an hour or so to glue all of the pieces together.

I couldn't get the fittings I wanted for the hot water heater, so I pulled out the existing taps and put in some that I could use standard flexible hose with instead of flared copper pipe.

It took a bit of work to clean out the threads on the hot water heater for the new parts.  It was pretty obvious that the hot water heater had been leaking at the old fittings because there was quite a bit of rust on both of them.

The bathroom plumbing glued together and all ready to go...

The shower connection does not have a shut off, so it's all glued and ready to be covered now with insulation and plywood sheeting.

I cut a hole in the floor for the gray water stack.  I ran out of time and have not hooked up the pipes from the sinks, bathtub and washing machine drain, but I did make a final decision on the location for it.

The entire supply system (with the exception of the washing machine hookups is complete.  We turned on the water supply and after fixing a few minor drips, everything seems to be sealed and ready to go.

We left the water connected tonight and will check for any water on the floor in the morning.

Tomorrow we'll try to get the drains all connected and run to the gray water tank.  We also need to permanently mount the water connection to the side of the bus (which requires some cutting).
