We're back in Elfrida this evening. It was a nice to get away
for a while and spend a bit more time doing what we had originally
planned - exploring...
Becky and I had some time to talk about next steps and what we would
like to be doing. We're pretty broke at this point and can't
figure out a way to come up with enough money to afford to travel with
the bus. I am stuck in a place where I have to make a hard
decision. I have to sell the bus.
Becky and I know that we're going to have to return to the city and
go back to work for some time. We can't store the bus. It's
just too big for us to take with us, so we're trying to figure out how
much to sell it for. We have about 20,000.00 into the bus
including all of the solar and appliances. We're thinking that 1/2
of what we put into it so far would be a good deal for someone.
There has to be someone out there that would like to continue the
project...
It's a day of mixed feelings... Becky and I are going to work
as hard as we can over the next week to finish up the major projects on
the bus so that we can sell it. The major task at hand is to paint
the exterior and button down the interior so that someone can drive it
off without having to worry about anything. It's going to be a lot
of work, but I'd feel better handing off the bus in a more presentable
fashion.
I hate it that I can't continue on this project. It's been a
lot of fun and I've learned a ton, but we need to get back to
"reality" and do a little more traveling before the summer is
gone and we have to settle somewhere and get the girls in
school...
This is going to be hard. |
