I received a couple of emails from Jamie who owns one of the sister
busses to ours. He bought himself a bigger and newer bus and needs
to sell his 40' GMC 5307A. It's basically identical to ours except
that it has an extra door near the middle of the passenger side.
He's poured over $6,000.00 into a completely rebuilt transmission and
says that the bus is running great. I want to buy it and convert
it to an RV, but I have no place to store it or work on it, so it's up
for grabs to anyone that wants it. I believe that he's looking to
get $3,000.00 for the whole thing. The bus is currently on eBay at
the following web site address: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6728&item=2479272624&rd=1.
Right at the
moment it looks like you could get the bus for only $2,500.00 ($500.00
less than I paid for mine with our leaking transmission). If you
decide to bid, drop me an
email to let me know that you heard about the bus here.

I thought that we could get the roof painted
today, so Becky and I worked on getting it ready. We took
the canopy down off the roof and tilted the solar panels up so
that we could get to all of the areas that we wanted to paint. |

Becky and I took turns washing the dust and dirt
off. It's a huge job and takes quite a bit of scrubbing to
even get through the first layer...
About 45 minutes into our cleaning, the wind started to kick
up. Within an hour the wind was blowing so hard that the
wind generator was hitting max speed and dust was blowing up
from the nearby field.
We decided that painting the roof was not going to happen
today and with all of the dust blowing around it didn't make any
sense to continue trying to wash the roof off for painting. |
I'm pretty depressed about the way that things have been turning out
lately. Projects keep getting put on hold because of things that
are out of our control. It also doesn't help that I'm feeling
really nauseous today and have been fighting off something.
Everyone in the family has been suffering bad headaches lately.
Becky and I think that it might be due to all of the pesticides that the
nearby farmers have been crop dusting over the past few weeks. I
am planning to spend the rest of the day inside the bus relaxing and
trying not to get sick. I hope that things start to work more in
our favor over the next couple of weeks. We really need to get out
of here and expand our options... |
