We finally have a phone connection to the internet here in Elfrida.
Up to this point all internet access was from the local library and was
very limited. Now that we have a phone things are a lot easier to
keep up to date.

We got hit by a pretty nice sized storm in the
afternoon. Winds reached over 30 miles per hour and picked
up huge quantities of dust.
The entire night I worried about the wind generator. At
times it spun up so fast that I thought that it would fall
apart. The blades are supposed to be designed to
"flatten out" at extremely high speeds and prevent the
generator from over revving... Apparently it works
since in the morning the generator was still in tact and
generating electricity (although about 1/2 what it should be
because I couldn't find any wire larger than 10 gauge)... |
The night was filled with heavy rain and winds strong enough to rock
the bus back and forth at times. |
