It's still really cold outside, but as you can see, some of
the snow has melted away... We drive by a snowman each day
on the way to the bus and when it started to melt and fall
backwards, Becky and I commented to each other that it would be
funny if someone put a limbo bar in front of it. Today we
drove by and there it was. Great minds think alike
<grin>.

I had to do some work on the water tank to get it secured in
place a bit better for our trip to Quartzsite. I screwed
some scrap pieces of 2x2 around the entire tank to keep it from
sliding around and then strapped it to the 3/4 inch plywood
piece.
The entire water tank/pump assembly can be pulled out from
under the bus in a few minutes. The plywood assembly will
be bolted to the support beams under the bus before we leave.

Not a very good picture, but I did some testing using the
water pump switch that we pulled from the trailer.
With the water tank partially filled up we disconnected the
main water supply and sure enough, plenty of running water from
the tank and pump assembly.
It is encouraging to have this part of the bus system
finally connected and tested...

Since the battery remote is not working I didn't feel comfortable
leaving the electricity hooked up. The charger defaults to
expecting a 30A circuit. Since I am hooked up to a 15A circuit and
couldn't re-program the charger without a working remote, I ended up
pulling the electrical cord.
I pointed one of my shop lights at the water pump under the
bus. Now that the tank has water in it and the pump is also
filled, I have some fear that the cold weather will freeze the pipes and
destroy the pump. Hopefully the light will give off enough heat to
keep the pump from freezing. |
