January 1st 2004
Well, it's the new year... 2004. Dave and Ellen finally
made it over to the house last night and we rang in the new year with a
few fireworks and a cigar. I think we managed to get to bed around
3:30 in the morning so this morning we woke up a little later than
usual.
I'm trying to make some coffee and get myself together when I peek
out the window and see about 6 inches of snow on the ground... and
it's still coming down like crazy.

We had to make an emergency trip out to the bus to
disconnect the water supply hose before it froze in place.
The drive over to the bus was intense. Not a lot of
traffic on the roads and EVERYTHING was covered with quite a bit
of snow. |
 |
The Jeep got us to the bus without any problems,
but there was no way we would have made it without 4 wheel drive
and some patience. We took it nice and slow and enjoyed
the scenery.
The hose to the bus was fine. I got it disconnected and
drained the lines so it should be fine until we can get back to
it when the snow melts.

Tonight's weather forecast called for more snow over the next few
days... If it's not too bad we'll try to get out to the bus again
so I can at least get a few more things done. We're running out of
time. The trip to Arizona is only a couple of weeks away and
there's so much that needs to be done. Hopefully we'll have clear
roads and the weather will cooperate when it's time to get the bus on
the road.
Happy new year! |
