Follow Our Progress

December 30th 2003

I still have the executive chair tonight (oooh, the power!)

We started the day out by making a trip to the RV store and picking up a new forced air heater.  We have been so cold lately, we thought it necessary.

The intake/exhaust holes we made for the old heater from the trailer were in the right spot, but one of the holes needed to be bigger, so Gary got to cut some more metal.

Here is the new heater in the spot under the range.  I don't know much about it, other than it's the biggest model Suburban makes, and apparently that is important...

Sorry for the crappy picture.  This is Gary driving.  It doesn't look too exciting here, but it really was a big deal.

We needed to make a trip to the DMV today to get the bus registered before the first of the year.  The rates are going to go up dramatically,  so we unhooked everything under the bus and took a little trip.

Again, not such a great picture...  But proof all the same that we did get the bus rolling on the road where it belongs.

I think this trip across town has renewed our (at least I am super excited!) motivation to get down to Quartzsite next month.  The engine didn't blow up, the brakes worked great, and other than the part where the driver's seat wasn't bolted to the floor...  well, it was a good trip all the same.
