First thing we did was tint the window in the hallway.
It's easy to do now for the most part. I've found the
easiest method is to throw away the manufacturer's
instructions...
The instructions indicate that I am supposed to cut the
window tint using the exterior of the window as a template and
then peel and stick the resulting piece on the inside. It
never matches up correctly - the rubber on the inside and
outside are not always the same around the edge of the glass.
I found the easiest way is to just peel the protective
plastic away and stick it to the window while it's nice and wet
with a soap and water solution. Then I smooth out the
bubbles and make sure that the tint is as smooth as I can get it
and then using a fine razor blade run the blade in the seam
where the rubber and glass meet. Once I have all of the
edges cut I go back and squeegee any remaining water out to the
edges and dab it away with a cloth. By the next day the
tint is nice and sticky I can rub down any edges that might
have pulled away and formed bubbles.
I did some vinyl decal work a long time ago - it's basically
the same process I was taught then to remove bubbles.
