The next day we moved the bus to a more secure location
at my friend Tedd's house. It will live here for as long as necessary to convert
the bus to a livable space.
In return for letting us use his RV spot, we have offered to help
him get some work done around the house. I couldn't get Becky to
stop stacking wood and help me with the bus... She said she was
addicted to it. <grin>
I started out by removing all of the vent channeling so I could see the
bolts along the wall that were holding the raised platforms down.
There were a ton of sheet metal screws to take out, but for the most part
they came out without any problem.
Later in the day Becky and I started removing the
raised platform
on the left side of the center isle. The wood was bolted down and
removing the bolts was a serious job, so we started cutting out sections
with the jig saw to try to speed the process up.
At this point we finally got to see what the rest of the
wheel well looked like. Pretty exciting, but we had to call it quits
for the day...
Both Becky and I were pretty tired out and we could tell this
raised floor removal was
going to be a multiple day project at the very least...
