April 12th 2004
Yesterday we drove to Phoenix Arizona for an Easter brunch at my
Uncle Robert and Aunt Nancy's home. There were quite a few other
relatives there to visit with and we had a good time listening to the
conversation around the brunch table.
Becky and I had never been to their home before and had heard stories
about how beautiful it is... Well, it was fantastic.
Everything was gorgeous and the house and gardens were fun to explore.
We forgot to take the camera with us, so we don't have any pictures of
the day's activities.
The girls got to swim and participated in an egg hunt that turned a
bit trickier when Uncle Bertram hid one of the eggs in his pocket and
didn't tell anyone - we searched for quite some time for the missing egg
before he finally confessed... Everyone had a lot of fun. I
played volleyball for part of the afternoon and had a blast learning the
rules and how to play each position on the court. I forgot how
much fun it was to play and compete a little. I really have not
been playing enough and need to do things like that more often.
We left Phoenix around noon and headed back home to the bus.
About 5 minutes after we arrived at the bus, Becky's dad (A.J.) and step mom
(Kathy) pulled in the driveway. We spent the evening catching up and
relaxing in front of the fireplace. Tomorrow we plan to go
exploring a bit...
